People also ask

Is this only for people who've never been on stage?
No. It's ideal if you haven't performed yet, but it's just as useful if you've already done a handful of gigs, single or double digits, and you're enjoying it and want to get better fast. Most of the course stays genuinely relevant well past your first few shows, it's not a course you outgrow after one gig.

Do I need to have written material already?
No. The course takes you through writing your first set from nothing, using your own life and observations as the raw material, not generic jokes that could belong to anyone.

I'm nervous about getting heckled. Does the course cover that?
It does, though heckling is a much smaller worry than most new comedians think. In an open mic room, a big chunk of the audience is other comedians waiting for their own turn. If someone does get mouthy, the MC handles it, not you. The nerves around this are almost always bigger than the reality.

How is this different from an in-person comedy course?
You work through video sessions at your own pace rather than sitting in a room comparing yourself to other people, which for a lot of comedians actually makes it easier to think clearly and develop your own voice, not someone else's version of funny. You also own it for life, so you can come back to it again and again. Sections that mean little on day one often land completely differently once you've got some gigs under your belt, worth revisiting rather than filing away after one watch.

Will I actually be ready to get on stage after this course?
