The real story behind our fake quotes

Or: How to tell the truth before it happens

As one of our keener-eyed readers, you’ve probably noticed something odd about the "testimonials" on our For Agencies page.

This is not the usual carefully curated client praise. That’s because… well… it’s not. Not yet.

Every quote is, quite clearly, made up.

And that’s not a mistake.

Who needs credibility theatre? We want to work with YOU.

So, what’s going on here?

The We Are Funny Project is entering a new market: bringing humour, creativity and communication skills to advertising, marketing and communications agencies.

We’ve coached and trained comedians, performers and presenters for over a decade. We’ve got stacks of five-star reviews from that work all over our website.

We've got more 5-star reviews than you can shake a stick at… just not from you. Yet.

Early feedback from our new agency clients is equally strong.

But right now, we don’t yet have the polished, client-signed testimonials that make most B2B websites feel “real”.

And—frankly—kind of samey, too.

Do those wall-of-text review pages offer meaningful social proof? Or just the same old, same old credibility theatre?

In any event…

Is the We Are Funny Project a risk worth taking? Schedule a call and let's find out.

We didn’t want to wait

So we did what any half-decent comedian—or creative strategist—would do:

W
e invented quotes that sound exactly like our future clients.

People like you. People who’ll recognise themselves when they read our words.

We wrote in the voice of agency creatives, team leads, and communications directors. We imagined how people like you would feel—before, during and after a session with us. We captured the energy we know we can bring to the room—and the difference we know we can make.

It's fun—in a low key way. But it’s also functional.

If reading case studies IS part of your purchasing process, we do have them—and more on the way.

Not a gimmick. Proof of concept.

We're convinced that humour is a business advantage. And this little experiment is a case in point.

Yes, we’ve delivered the punchline before the set up here. But—if you've read this far—you're engaging with our story. By showing our work, we invited you into our world.

And we turned a marketing problem into a creative asset.

Want to engage your clients like this?

Call it credibility bootstrapping.

Call it testimonial tongue in cheek.

Call it MacGyver does fake news, if you know your 80s television.

But whatever you do—call Alfie Noakes at the We Are Funny Project to discuss how light-hearted, quickfire creativity like this transforms problem to possibility for any brand. Including yours.
