MTV flew me to New York to interview Damon and Jamie. Gave me back stage access at their gig at the legendary Apollo. We then hired the mighty Phil Cornwell, who voiced Murdoc in the band, to come in and voice my script.
I was given full access to the entire animated back catalogue for Gorillaz, plus some brand new stuff. While my then career niche was cinema programming, this turned out to be one of the best shows I ever made, IMHO.

After all, every open mic comedian is their own Producer, Director, Screenwriter and Leading Role.
Latterly, they must navigate matters including Marketing & Publicity, Wardrobe, Sound and Camera, Critics, Competitions and Agents.
