What it is
MC duties go far beyond simply saying who's up next. You've got to keep the flow in the show!

The key focus of this friendly one-day workshop is to give new(ish) comedians a clear understanding of the role of the comedy host, or MC, and to bombard you with tips, tricks and techniques to obtain the most laughs as you maintain the energy in the room. Many of the skills and lessons also apply to your regular stand-up performance, or even to public speaking outside of the comedy club.

You will gain insight on what grass roots promoters look for, learn how to gain more stage time as an MC (and as an act), and get a perspective on the comedy business that is very different from that of a performer running 5s and 10s. The day will be part class and part performance with personalised advice for each and every attendee.

You will learn:

- how to stay "in the room"
- your responsibility to the show
- house-keeping and introducing acts
- crowd work and dealing with hecklers
- how to work in your own material

We'll wrap up with a Q&A session for you to ask about any issue you like. At least, so far as live comedy goes...

Visit Eventbrite now to book your place.
